Tyler Johnston ARAD RTS Director

Tyler founded Auckland Ballet Theatre and opened for classes January 2021 Tyler began dancing at the age of 3 with ballet then musical theatre and jazz which sparked her will to try all dance styles. She went on to full time classical training at the New Zealand School of Dance in Wellington graduating in 2015. While in Wellington Tyler was selected to spend time with the Royal New Zealand Ballet Company until a recurring injury stopped her from being able to dance professionally. After a few years overseas dancing and teaching in Australia and Vienna, she came home to New Zealand and became a qualified dance teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. Her passion for dance has led her to open up her own school where she hopes she can spread her knowledge and love of all things dance to her students.

Hayley began dancing at age three, beginning with ballet and jazz, then discovering her passion for tap. She has competed as a soloist in tap competitions around NZ for several years and in 2022, was a tap semi-finalist at PACANZ, and placed second at the Auckland Caledonians Competition with her own choreography, putting her among the top tap dancers in the country.

She has completed the TDI Tap (Solo Seal) and Jazz syllabi, has completed Level 8 NZAMD tap and was awarded two scholarship nominations. Hayley has competed with crews in tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, lyrical and musical theatre and has performed at Christmas in the Park, in the Farmers Santa Parade and in music videos. Hayley graduated from Westlake Girls High School in 2022 and is looking forward to sharing her love of dance with her students.

Nieve began dancing at the age of 3 and has since gained experience in a variety of styles. She has always loved the idea of passing on her knowledge and enjoyment of dance; she spent years assisting her ballet teacher with the younger students' classes before she started teaching herself in 2019. Additionally she had the opportunity to lead dance troupes at Rangitoto College, where she received the Devotion to Dance award in 2018.
